It was the autumn of 2011 and while Shamrock Rovers supporters were in town for a Europa League group game with PAOK, also in Greece were the IMF. They were providing the Greek state a bailout. With austerity in the air, the locals were not happy with the match day sights including a march by workers through the rubbish strewn city centre with the refuse collector's on strike.
