Given that Sagnol was condemned by black players who played with him and by numerous anti-racism groups - I'd say there is pretty solid ground for asserting that he is a racist and his comments were racist comments directed at African players.

1. you were the one that brought up the case of George Nkencho, not me - I merely corrected some of the erroneous issues in your post.
2. I oppose racism - and all other forms of discrimination - I wear that as a badge of honour and make no apologies for it.

The fact that I am opposed to Sagnol becoming Ireland manager has nothing to do with his ability as a manager - it has to do with the fact that he is a racist and his appointment would send the wrong message to black players in the squad and to society in general which has seen an upsurge in racism and violence from the far-right (including the murder of a Croatian man a few weeks ago because he didn't speak English).
