Big game for Rovers tonight, a real must win heading into the break and the draw for Europe next week.........hopefully Waterford can do us a favour against Shels.
Big game also for Longford in Kerry, lose and they are 5 points adrift at the bottom of the first division, not what anyone would have expected and on form youd have to make Kerry favourites.
Harps UCD another big one in terms of pushing on agaisnt a poor enough Cork side.
Cork v Cobh sees another big local clash. Leaders Cork have had a huge edge in these games with their winning results. Cobh will be looking for a result to stay in the play-off positions!

Waterford-Shels seems interesting, but just can't get over how bad Waterford have been each time we've played them this season, so can't take them as in any way a serious outfit.
The result in Oriel will be a better indicator of how the great escape will pan out than picking up points v Derry or Rovers. We need to be winning against teams that will also be damaged by a loss in terms of potentially being sucked in to a relegation scrap. It will be tight but the sort of fixture you need to take 3 points from to really state an intention of being in the fight. Derry, Rovers, Galway and Dundalk wins while unlikely to happen will add an interesting layer to the relegation battle with the 2 never been relegated really flirting with a relegation playoff.
Waterford were awful in the game in Tallaght where they beat us 3 to 1 we were just completly inept starting with Pohls og from the opening corner.Quote:

Heck of a season in fairness. Rovers now 12 points off Shels with 15 games left. It's doable, but surely panic stations in Tallaght. Rovers as close to Dundalk in the playoff as to Shels.
Think Drogheda are gone after tonight. Too many goals going in, and Dundalk on a run of form now too

Europe the only hope to rescue something from this shambles
Typical of Rovers to ruin what was developing in to good wind up opportunity on St Pats. Shocked that Derry actually took advantage of someone dropping points. As has been alluded too previously, a single loss to someone you could be in a relegation scrap with and the complexion starts to change a bit. Usually when on a bit of a run the break would be a disrution but I think Dundalk need the time on the training pitch and rest some bodies. Will be the same for others, could be a big benefit to St Pats. No so good for Rovers to hae to dwell on a late loss, looking at the gap at the top grow - and its not as if injuries will ever be different for them really. Shels just keep chipping away and will have every reson to gamble on spending to bring lads in in July and try to keep Derry at arms length which probably wouldnt take much going on past trends.
Nobody is panicking in tallaght the league is toast. We are awful and look out of ideas. If I'm nervous about anything it's not making the top 4 and getting into Europe next year. Or top 3 if a left field winner of the cup.Quote:
