Excellent result for Town and 3 great goals. Thought John Martin was outstanding aswell as Paul Keegan (motm).

Very disappointing crowd however, thought people might make the effort but its bygones.

Town pile woes on Waterford

Longford Town 3-0 Waterford United
Dave Mooney fired his first goal for Longford Town as the midlanders heaped more misery on Waterford United at Flancare Park on Friday night.

Mooney, a deadline day signing from Shamrock Rovers, struck the opening goal moments before half-time to raise the spirits of Alan Matthews’s side.

Longford had seen their grip on both domestic Cup competitions come to an end inside the past fortnight, with Derry City ousting them at the semi-final stage of the League Cup and UCD proving too good after a replay in the FAI version.
