not if they were in breach of contract. it looks like foley was being an asshoIe alright but if there was no written agreement to defer payments then he's legally in the clear. I'd say good riddance to him. The league is better off without players like him.Quote:

Not sure actually, I'd guess that if it went to court a judge would say that as soon as the contract was breached he was entitled to speak to others. I'd agree that he only kicked up a fuss once he thought he had a way out though.Quote:

1. He seems to have been aware that they were not prepared to pay a transfer fee for him.
2. He quite obviously knew he had to be a free agent for them to be interested.
The only way he would have known this was if he spoke about a possible move to Ghent, and this must be "tapping up".

I guess the point is that once Bohs hadn't paid him on the original date he could basically do whatever the fcuk he wanted. Most players would attempt to come to an arrangement (as Bohs did) and would stick by that (as he didn't).
Would his contract have been up at the end of the season??? if so he is legally entitled to speak to other clubs in the last six months of his contract
Form what I heard he's just being acting the gob****e for awhile saying he was too good for the league when, as someone else pointed out, he didn't set the place alight with his performances. How many penos did he score?

I say good luck to him. his first interest is obviously money but then again eircom league players dont get paid enough to put loyalty over hard cash. i blame bohs never mind coming to an arrangement to pay him how about do pay it when they say they are going to pay it in the first place. he wont get very far in belgium either his overall career goals tally must be very low.
