Shane Brennan/GOAL fund to benefit from Cup fund-raiser


Saturday night’s FAI Carlsberg Cup clash between holders Longford Town and League Cup finalists UCD will be marked by a special half-time draw in aid of the Shane Brennan/GOAL fund.

Shane, who played with distinction for the Irish colleges as well as Longford, Monaghan United and Athlone Town, was tragically killed in May of this year before he could fulfil a promise to raise funds for GOAL by taking part in the Dublin City Marathon.
