Richardson expecting tight affair
Cork City manager Damien Richardson is expecting a tight and tactical affair in Thursday night’s big Uefa Cup clash with Swedish side Djurgarden at Turners Cross.
Richardson’s side claimed a vital away goal in Stockholm two weeks ago, but Djurgarden hit back to level late on and leave the tie perched on a knife edge going into this week’s second leg.

C'mon City! Keep a clean sheet and yez'll be through!
"Cork is not an obstacle for us. We have to, and are proceeding to the next round; there is no doubt about it! We, Djurgården, are establishing ourselves in the European cups. And with that in mind, we can’t be beaten in the qualifying rounds against some team from Ireland."-Markus Johannesson, djurgarden captain
Thanks Markus for the team talk, rico can give those big words a rest for this one!!

I can't wait now. I have my ticket since Monday. Anyone know if there are still tickets available - a friend of mine decided at the last minute he wants to go.
C'mon (the other) City!
Still some available this morning from the club shopQuote:

I got the extra one at 11:15 this morning. They only had adult tickets left, but I got the impression there might still be a few hanging around for anyone that hasn't got one yet. I asked the guy if it would be a sell out, and he said "hopefully" (rather than "ya, definately, boy!")Quote:

To me those words from the captain don't show true confidence at all, it's more a matter of whistling past the graveyard. The fact that he feels he has to say it show's we've gotten to him
What else would you expect him to say?
That he thinks his team will be beaten?
Its all only wind. They know exactly what they have to do tonight, their is no under-estimation going on and the element of surprise is long gone.
I reckon they will win this game well, to be honest, we are in poor form at the moment, and they will be too good for us.
you could say it was a potential bannanna skin
Has it been p!ssing rain in the City like it has out here in West Cork? I hope it doesn't rain tonight. Especially if I get stuck in the St Annes end. Might have to get there early to get a seat in one of the covered stands.
Not really, more like we have an Everest to climb!Quote:

God I had a terrible headache from the tension last night, I kept thinking they would get a poxy goal near the end.
I had to get rid of the headache by having several pints of Heineken, just to calm the nerves, like!:p
