A meeting took place today at 2.30pm at Dundalk F.C. between the F.A.I., the Garda Siochana and Drogheda United representatives regarding the arrangements for Friday Night's fixture.
In respect of pitch work, it was clear that this was not complete and is not due to be finished until later this evening (Monday). F.I.F.A. are due to test the pitch tomorrow (Tuesday). A final decision in regard to the venue will be made following this inspection.
The rules of ther competition are such that the venue does not have to be declared until 72 hours before kick-off and hence a final decision will be made be tomorrow evening in any event.
A further statement will be issued once the venue decision is made. Droghed United will keep Supporters aware of ticketing and other match arrangements. In any event match tickets remain on sale at United Park, which will be valid irrespective of the venue.
