Devine set for Euro mission

Goalkeeper Michael Devine is expected to return to the Cork City side for Thursday evening’s Uefa Cup second qualifying round clash with Djurgarden in Sweden.

Devine has been sidelined for the past three weeks with a shoulder injury picked up in the first qualifying round meeting with FK Ekranas in Lithuania.

Veteran goalkeeping coach Phil Harrington and latterly Mark McNulty have deputized in recent weeks but Devine is set to return to the side for Thursday’s game in Stockholm.

City manager Damien Richardson said: “Mark McNulty has done really well, but Michael Devine has the big-game experience. He will come into contention to play.”
