Why would you have a digital photo of a different ticket from that game? Seems a bit weird, if its genuine and not just a copy then it would be a nice little souvenir though, no current bids, ends 30th July.Quote:

you'd probably need to ask football memorabilia collectors the world over? I'm guessing they haven't attended a large % of the games of what they have collected??
The fact that it is unused is also a bit quirky - if indeed it is not a fake.
Dont remember the game being particularly ill-tempered, sour grapes maybe?
Another point about the authenticity of the ticket, how could it be in 'PERFECT ABSOLUTE MINT CONDITION' after 17 years??
The ticket looks genuine - my stub is like that with the corners torn off.
Jaysus, Rovers would do anything to raise a few bob! ;)
 I just threw out a whole wad of stubs recently (under instructions from the Obergruppenfuhrer to "get rid of that rubbish"). I hope it makes a fortune - that will show her that football stuff going back years isn't rubbish ;)
and you actually just threw it out??
Did you not offer it to some collectors or stick it on ebay or something??
(On a side note: Was in a great wee bar in San Francisco the other week called 'The Owl Bar' - completely covered in pictures, mirrors, ornamental owls everywhere. You want to get a dublin owls supporters club pennant sent over to them!!!)
Yes, thrown out. I'm from the pre-Ebay era. Never crossed my mind they might be worth anything or that anyone would be interested in stubs from tickets of long gone (but not forgotton :D ) games.Quote:

And speaking of Euro 88, one of my lasting memories was coming out distraught from the stadium in Gelsenkirchen. We had been on a coach trip to the games courtesy of Dave Bacuzzi and there was one guy on the coach called Ger.The sniffer dogs used go wild when within sniffing range of him. He wore these tricolour shorts and as we came out from the Dutch game, there was Ger sitting on the ground with his testicles sticking out from under his shorts with his hands in his head. They would have done a donkey proud. It brought a momentary titter to lighten the depths of depression.
I'm sure you're all glad I shared that with you.
