WANTED: A Backbone for NOC
Has Noel O Connor lost all credibility over what has happened over the last few weeks.*
He stated in his programme 'address' to the fans on Friday night that he needed players that were going to put the club ahead of their own personal interests. Obviously his thinking behind saying it was to plant a seed in the minds of the fans (who may not know what really happened) that somehow these players were either drinking before matches/not turning up for training etc, basically anything that would make the fans think 'Fair play Noel, well done on getting rid of those good for nothings''*
And like any good politician, NOC made his statement and then denied saying it. Knowing that even if he did deny it, some people might still think there was truth behind it.
So it was with this in mind that NOC told Leonard Burke on limerick 95 that he DIDN'T in fact say this and he would have a word with whoever did write it. Its a wonder the man can walk without a backbone. I think it says everything about the man that he gave this reply.*
Listen Noel, why don't you do us all a favour and not bother writing an 'address' to the fans. Everybody wins if you don't. We don't have to waste time reading the rubbish, mother earth is helped by not wasting paper, plus it will save Danny Drew the money that he so desperate to save by having a page or two less in the programme. He could use this money to employ Alastair Campbell or Comical Ali. As both seem to be out of a job at
at the moment. I'm sure Drew would love to get them on board to sort out the PR disaster that he's overseeing at the moment.*
Personally I would advice both of them to steer clear of the job, talk about going from the frying pan into the fire.
