Shamrock Rovers manager Roddy Collins insists that the situation he took over at Dublin City last season worse than that in which the Hoops currently find themselves.
Collins took charge of the Vikings after the departure of John Gill last summer, and Rovers’ current plight has drawn several comparisons to that of Dublin almost a year ago – not least that Rovers are now five points adrift at the foot of the table, the same margin which Roddy faced at Dublin.
The Hoops are in dire financial difficulties and without an investor after the withdrawal of interested party Brian Quigley last week, while Collins looks destined to lose all the players he signed on short-term deals before the start of the season.
But Roddy remains upbeat about his side’s predicament. He told the Irish Daily Mirror: “When I took over Dublin City we were in a much worse situation than this. Now things are tough. It’s torture for me. There is no fun being in this situation. But I gave Rovers a commitment and I intend to honour that.”
LOL , start looking for a new manager :D
