Just got this in the post a few days ago- I know it's late but there was a great piece in the tribune sports section on march 10th by eamonn mccann.
Just one quote from it:
"You meet somebody in the street who can knowledgeably compare the difficulty of the run-ins of the English contenders but doesn't know who's playing at Dalymount today, and that's not a football fan, that's a fashion victim. One day there'll be therapeutic groups for them"
Brilliant. He's sure to get lovely feedback on that from the tribune sports readers!

Eamonn is one of the few journalists that consistently points out the stupidity of "fans" who blindly follow the premiership vis a vis those who follow the [COLOR=seagreen]eL[/COLOR]. He also champions the [COLOR=seagreen]eL[/COLOR], while being a very outspoken critic of the bumblers in the FAI. If only there were more like him..... :(
of course, he is a Derry City man, but we won't hold that against him..... :p

yeah spot on there oddboy, but what surprises me is that a paper like the Tribune would give him a column then, cos it's coverage of the eL is not exactly the best in the country!
