Hard luck to the rovers under 18's on their defeat to Belvedere in the FAI youth cup final on sunday. The game could have gone anyway. Rovers had a goal disallowed in the first half when the linesman adjudged John bellew to be in an offside position even though he didn't interfere with play . John maughan cooly rounded the keeper but unfortunately it was disallowed. There were appeals for a penalty also when Bellew was taken down inside the box by the centre back who clearly got nothing on the ball but the referee waved appeals away. Once the second goal went in it was game over though. Well done to the lads on getting to the final in what was agreat achievement for the club. Hopefully they'll be back again next year.
