Wexford FC v Bohemians (friendly)
Wexford found Bohemians to be a couple of notches higher than the previous Premier teams they’ve faced in pre-season as they shipped a heavy defeat in Blanchardstown today although Wexford played well in patches. Wexford started with Jack Lydon, Karl Fitzsimons, James Carroll, Dan Tobin, Christian Crawford, Conor English, Conor Crowley, Cian Kavanagh, Charlie Smith, Kaleem Simon and with Sean Roche up front. First half was played in a howling gale although the wind did die down as the game progressed. Bohs looked the sharper and pacier as they dominated the game in terms of possession and chances. On five minutes, the impressive Ward of Bohs had a shot a yard wide. This was followed by an easy side-foot home by Dinny Corcoran of Bohs as he knocked home a low cross from the left. Wexford then had a decent spell without threatening too much and had their first shot on target on 28 minutes but it was blocked for a corner. Bohs got their second goal from an uncleared corner and then Dinny Corcoran got their third when he latched onto a low cross, took a touch and blasted past Lydon for 3-0 at half-time.
