"The game against Galway is a very important game for us. The performance last week was good and we looked solid throughout. However that was one game and this hard work must continue for the rest of the season if we are to be challenging at the end of the season.

"Galway have a very strong and experienced spine to their team, some of whom are well known to Athlone Town fans. Games between the two are usually close and hard fought and I expect Friday to be no different. Galway had a good win last week and will come into this game full of confidence and we will have to take our performance up another level if we are to come away from Terryland with some points.

"Our own squad is coming along well. This week will see the return from suspension of Graeme O'Keeffe and Tom Silke. Gavin Doyle is suspended for one more match but is back in training and will be available for selection within the next few weeks. Alan O'Connor and Steven Gavin both came through the match well last week after injury had interrupted their pre season preparation and this is a lift as both will be big players for us over the season."
