Well?
My vote goes to Caulfield.
Mike Kerley would get my vote. Gunther is doing fine where he is- don't think he'd be a popualr choice with the players. Ashton and Bowdren also doing well where they are, so why move them. As for Caulfield- the last think we need in what is a fairly charged atmosphere is someone who's going to make it worse
Long interview with Rico on Saturday Sport on RTE radio just a while ago.
He said he would make an announcement on who his backroom team will be over the next few days, and they will be people who "have had a long association with Cork City, and know the town, people and club". So that narrows the field down a bit.
apparently caulfield and deccie daly are the most likely candidates

I am hearing John O'Rourke.
How has John O' Rourke got a "long association" with Cork City? Although Rico is a fan of his so who knows.....
Who's this guy? (was he the Galway manager a few years back or am I thinking of GAA or something?)Quote:

i voted for caulfield
If Ashton got the job, would it affect the U-21s?
That would be my concern because he does a great job with them.
But when Rico was speaking on Newstalk on Saturday, he did say it was his decision and he hoped to make it by mid-week once he had talked to everyone he wanted to.
why isnt patsy freyne an option???
Because depite winning the MSL 1st Division he isn't seen as a serious candidate.Quote:

Am I alone in thinking that Colin O'Brien would make a good assistant?
Well both of them probably rank ahead of the current Midleton manager but Caulfield has an MSL Premier title in the bag and are currently in the quarters of the Intermediate Cup. I wouldn't be shouting Patsy up after last Sundays result alone but he is doing an excellent job with the View.Quote:
