seeing that the roads are getting better, is there anyone here who might be interested in putting up directions to football grounds, best place to park etc.
ie.kildare, athlone, monaghan etc.
remember going to athlone back a few years ago, it took ages to find the pitch, even though i could see the floodlights
i must have crossed the river about 20 times :rolleyes:
The official Rovers website always have directions to away grounds. I think we'll be needing them this year as the red army will be on the march :)

Reminds me of the old joke about the old farmer that had made a bit of a reputation for himself as a man that knew his onions when it came to directions to anywhere, starting from his Mayo farm where he stood for hours on end just waiting for lost tourists to give them direstions to their destinations.Quote:

remember going to monaghan a couple of years back...remember around christmas, and there was nearly a cattle invasion at half time.we won 6 nil.
went through enniskillen and heading towards the border, when we were stopped by the UDR...jez they were an awkward shower, why had we to go through the north to get to monaghan!
then they asked where sligo was....
eventually we got going and made the game with minutes to spare.
that was around the time of mike small..
It used to be easier to find grounds during the winter because you could see the floodlights. I can imagine some grounds esspecially in the first division are difficult to locate because you are hardly following the crowd.
