Another good performance from Wexford but let down again by this season's failing - an inability to score goals - as Waterford took the three points by virtue of a solitary goal in Ferrycarrig tonight. Wexford started with Corey, Ricky, Owen, Ross, Craig, Mark, Duxey, Eoin, Crokey, and with Danny and Lee up front. First half had very few chances and Wexford more than matched their table-topping visitors. On four minutes, Eoin Porter had a volley blocked following a long throw by Craig McCabe. Virtually no decent efforts on goal at either end from then until the 28th minute, when Mark Slater, getting better with each game, had a curling effort a yard wide. Mark O'Sullivan of Waterford was looking dangerous in the air but Wexford were generally coping. On 44 minutes, Waterford had a low volley which flashed a yard wide from a Blues corner. O'Sullivan then went into a tackle with Wexford's Craig McCabe but fared badly as he hobbled off the pitch. 0-0 at half-time after an even enough game.
