Connor extends scouting network

Sean Connor has appointed Ian Clarkson as a second Sligo Rovers scout in England.

Clarkson, a journalist who played over 500 football league games during his career has extensive contacts in the Conference and is currently also coaching in Solihull Academy. Ian will monitor potential targets for the Bit O'Red in both non-league and the Conference.

"I've known Ian since my days at Birmingham. He knows exactly what I'm looking for in a player and his work as a journalist will give him the chance to assess any potential talent out there," said Connor

On the signings front, Connor is still chasing a Premier Division player but will be going further afield at the end of the week as he has talks with two players in England on Friday.

"I am speaking to two players on Firday and I'm hoping to tie up at least one before the transfer deadline," he added.
