Longford raid Gillingham for reinforcements
Martin Lawlor has called in Gillingham players Richard Rose and Daniel Spiller to boost his struggling side. Hammered 6-1 by Shamrock Rovers in the League Cup on Wednesday, Longford were forced to field almost an entire second string 11 because of a crippling injury list.
And the manner of the defeat left Lawlor with no option but to call for on-loan reinforcements from England who will stay until the end of the campaign. "But both on-loan players have been knocking on the door of first-team football at Gillingham. They're looking for experience and they're attitude impressed me. That's the sort of attitude that we need right now."
