In the 2-2 drawn game against Greece where they Qualified for WC2002, Beckham was brilliant, the only player on the pitch that night that looked like he deserved to grace the World Cup.
I reckon a lot of people don't like the man rather than the footballer. I, for one, think he was an excellent player but has certainly gone downhill in the past 2-3 years. He fancies himself as a centre midfielder which he isn't. His performances for England have been very poor of late apart from his goal against Wales.Quote:

he's a decent player, and a decent guy, blessed with an excellent right foot. the problem is that he is being played in a defensive central midfield role, by a club who's defence really needs protecting- and he can't beat a man, he can't tackle and he just can't play centre-mid.
