rovers cup run and city's luck dividend

Considering rovers had a jammy win over us in the first round of the cup it is a bit of a sickener to see them get one jammy tie after another- monaghan at home, now sligo at home. what is even worse is that all the top sides are knocked out or like bray-bohs end up playing each other.

longford beat us last year and finn harps a couple of years previous to that and then they both end up getting to the final themselves.

i reckon it's down to the fact we had so much good luck when we won the cup in 98 we are still paying for it (broughan's og. a jammy win up in derry, sligo at home in 1/4's and athlone in the semi's - cushy games!!!, shels gutted at losing the league a week previous to the final - happy days)

Its good for the game to have big clubs in the cup semis. With Sky rumoured to be showig the semis & final we could do with a UCD v Dundalk/Sligo semi.

Shamrock Rovers winning the cup might eb the only way we see euro footie next season anyway........
