those names wouldnt exactly do much better than russell.need somebody of a higher calibre.russell just hasnt done it.i know he hasnt had much too play with but its his team and his style of play and its not working.i cant see him being sacked though as they wont want to change with all the good news with markets field.its a results business and he hasnt cut it.no point in crying about spilt milk next season if they are in the first division.need 4/5 players of decent quality in july window or its bye byes i'm afraid.
Kerley, good shout, would he come back under the current Operations Manager? Not a hope but he'd get the players playing attacking football and if we go down, we'd go down fighting.
O'Connor, we don't have one top centrehalf, Noel plays with 5!
Barry Ryan, another bluffer, who was he last seen managing?
I To be honest I don't see anyone better than Russell out there and that's the reality.
Kerely might come in and play attacking football but didn't he already have a crack at keeping a team up with Waterford and failed miserably?
I think a few good signings is a lot more vital than a change of manager. If say a centre half, experienced midfielder, winger and striker came in it could transform our whole team.
With our squad, the fact we are only losing games by a goal is a credit to Russell. Its players we need.
I'd fancy Russell to do a better job of convincing players to come during the transfer window than any of the alternatives.
What about Alan Reynolds? Came within a whisker of taking Waterford up and won the cup as Buckley's assistant at St Pats last year. He mightn't be everyone's pick but he'd light a fire under one or two of our passengers.
That's true.
The achievements with Waterford show he knows how to win games. Just a suggestion but hey, could be worse. Roddy Collins keeps getting work.
How much is Russell even paid? I'm wondering how attractive the job is financially.
Russells contract must be tight...18 games without a win??where else would that happen...he obviously has a lot of support amongst fans and with the powers that be,however something needs to change, either himself, his backroom team, the way the team plays or the players themselves, before you know it the games will be gone and so will we....to the graveyard.
I was in the company of several players out in Ul during the Kennady Cup last week and they are very concerned with the constant playing of under performing players that keep been mentioned on these forums. I think this issue is not just been acknowledged by the fans. I hope to Jesus he doesn't continue with this policy if new players come in shortly.
