1) Cheap beer and the sing songs in John Joes!
2) The singing atmosphere of the Section O on matchnights.
3) The kickaround on the hallowed astro turf of the Flansiro five a side pitches..
4) Christ I even miss Blazers!!!!!

vodka and buckfast instead of water to drink perhaps ???
can't say i miss much apart from the home games and luigis curry chips

Things im also looking forward to in Longford.
Going to a nightclub that doesnt play fecking R and B or garage all the fecking time.....

The sight of St. Mel's Cathedral in the distance going down the Dublin Road.
Not being the only person wearing a Longford Town shirt within 75 miles...
A snackbox in Luigis.
Lyons tea, Denny rashers and white pudding, and Pat the Baker bread.

You can't remember the last time you saw a tractor with an indicator, but
it doesn't matter because you know where they're going anyway.
You've traveled to either Australia, Japan, US and
South America and all your stories are of times you spent with other people from Longford
You think Luigi's should be in the top 10 restaurant guide

Slashers was for a night of normality and falling in love with some nice girl from the sticks then waking up the following morning and realising she's not the girl for you.Saturday nights in the System....well what can i say.I went to the Tec so if i was at the Mels grad something would have been seroiusly wrong.Myself and all the other Town U18's always drank upstairs in the Misty and usually ended up with hangovers togging out for the B team in Waterford on a sunday morning.I almost forgot about Joey Malone setting me up with the ugliest bird ever up in slashers and John Cleary kept feeling her arse and of course she thought it was none other than my good self.
Agreed mate, not the legendary place it was. Though they still have poor old Willie slaving away behind the shop. :) Trips out to The Powerhouse in Mohill. Drinking behind the Council Offices in the early days, then Gallogly's minibus. Slashers on Firday nights when they had the slow sets at the end of the night, redeemed many a dodgy night out for me. (By the way, bring them back!!!) PV's (the old one), the days when the Beat on the Street was in Longford, and just hoping the dancers on stage would be drinking in Blazers afterwards. Cycling to watch the Town when the Flansiro was just a pipe dream. Cycling trips up Cairn Hill, and sprint finishes down it. Fcuking hell mate, this town aint so bad.Quote:

yeh the paddy clabby, what memories!! in the lyons den after winning the double, gary donlon crying into the cup that was named after his dad, (crying that we won it :-)..)......have been away for a long time myself, but it still irks me when people over here slag off longford, sure twas a grand place many moons ago, lots of good memories...btw, why is everone getting so fat now??
