Am I alone in thinging his performance plunged new depths of incompetence last night? During the second half there were almost a dozen unreal decisions which assisted Longford in keeping the pressure on..If we had not won, I'd have been seriously pi**ed with him, as it is I'm just relieved.
BTW, as good as it was to win, we were under major pressure for the twenty minutes leading up to our breakaway goal... could have been very different.
I didn't see the game last night, but he is a truly shocking ref-as are most of the refs in the league. We've been saying it for so long now, it's just not funny. Why can't they sort it out? It's like an old boys club, where all the ref assessors are afraid to give bad marks as not to upset their squash-playing buddy. It's farcical.

Foley has a rare but serious arm disorder, its also affected by his colourblindness.
The easiest way to describe it is that when he sees any colour, even those unaffected by colour blindness, his right arm has to shoot up in the air. The only way to solve this is if he's ambidextrix, but unfortunately he's just a f*ckin' idiot!
About 5 minutes before Flynny's goal, I thought our backs were against the wall and that it was only a matter of time for Longford to get on level terms. Flynny was taken down on the right wing with only the keeper to beat. I was about 5 yards away. That toad from Youghal signalled to O'Neill that Flynny had fouled the Longford defender. I never saw so many people in the Donie Forde stand on their feet shouting. City had been soaking up so much pressure in the previous 10 minutes, we deserved better. When I see guys playing their guts out, like I saw last Monday, it is not on that a sub-standard set of officials could have nobbled them.Quote:

I don't see anything funny about someone invading the pitch to have a go at the ref and risking a fine for the club.
OK Eanna I am with you there, but tell me this: if you take off the rose-tinted glasses, and try to look at referees' performances objectively, and still you come up with really low standards of referreeing, where do you go? Remember the refs who came to the cross during the Inter-Toto? They were a pleasure to watch. Are our referrees and lines people paid so badly that all we can afford is lousy officials? And last night's ref at Waterford (McKeon) made Jim O'Neill look good!!!Quote:

spot on with both points there IMO. Believe me I've felt like doing it myself often enough. But every time some idiot runs on the pitch and has a go at the ref, it probably puts people off the thought of becoming a ref,when they might be very good at it. lets face it, would you even think of becoming a ref with the abuse they get?
