I shall persist on the motors front!
So, who's driving the oldest car at the moment? Has to be your daily driver, i.e. the car on your main insurance policy.
I've a '96 Volvo 850R, but given the economy I'm sure I'll be beaten within minutes. :)

The oldest car I ever owned was a 96 Peugeot 106. Replaced by a 97 Ford Escort.
Owned the 106 in 2005.
It had 113 when I bought it, I think I've put about 4 or 5 on it but I'd have to look to be sure. It was in pretty good shape when I bought it however it had sat idle and unloved for a good while and it's needed some TLC -- I got a blowout on the M7 on the way home, for example, and when I looked in the boot the spare was forked. This is my oldest so far, although I'm aiming to buy a fifties Volvo Amazon in a few years, when I can afford storage. Last car I had was '00, so 12 years old at the time. The earliest car I had was my first, a mid-nineties 525i called Otto. Think it was a '94. Great car.Quote:

They are. My old man retired his Carina E just a couple of years ago, and even then it was only because he moved to northern Sweden and it wasn't built for that climate. Think it had around 300k on it. Before that he had a string of them going back decades, new every 2-3 years as he was his own salesman.
I drove an Aygo 3 years ago on holiday, twas great fun, put the Fiat 500 I had 2 years ago to shame. And the mother has a Yaris, manky car but just goes and goes.
I've a 1987 Mercedes 190. Got it in Austria in 2004 and it's going great! It's an automatic, which is a bit of a pain, but it is used by a friend of mine who averages 500km a week in it. One scary thing is it's rear wheel drive, not good in an automatic in the snow!
Very nice, and the current leader!
I tend to like big Mercs over small ones, but the 190 is a definite exception. I'd swap one of these for a testicle any day of the week.
