The clash with Kildare is looming on the horizon and Bray maintained their four point lead in third place with a 1-0 victory in Kilkenny last night.
Kilkenny could have broken the deadlock in the first half but Chris O'Connor in the Bray goal was equal to a couple of efforts.
O'Connor again had to be alert after the break but Wanderers finally got their noses in front on 52 minutes.
Kilkenny City 0-1 Bray Wanderers
Third placed Bray Wanderers had to rely on a spectacular goal by Stephen Fox to earn a win against struggling Kilkenny City at Buckley Park on Saturday night.
Wanderers are only two points off the top of the table but with a crunch match against fourth placed Kildare County in midweek, the Seagulls knew they needed a win against City.
