I remember thinking about 8 years ago that this guy was worth watching. Forest just missed out on promotion and Thompson played defensive midfield despite being a natural defender. He was doing quite well.
Anyway, Forest went backwards as did Thompson and he has now retired after a traumatic facial injury.

Very sad story actually. Poor guy. A guy I play with here from Bolton had a very similar injury by all accounts. How the fck does that sort of sh!t still happen on the pitch?

It means he was pushed/forced into the advertising hoarding that lines the pitch. It's often impossible to tell what sort of fencing is behind the hoardings and what condition it is in.Quote:
