Mark Herrick is again ruled out for the Tribesmen.
Jalmard Kulsten and Owen Keating are expected to miss out through injury for Limerick.

Galway ease past Limerick

Three second half goals sent Galway United on their way to victory over the league's bottom side Limerick at Terryland Park last night.
Michael Harty opened the scoring as he fired home from Damien Dupuy's set-up just after the hour.
Dupuy added two to kill off the game. Both goals arrived due to weak defending and poor organisation in the Lims' defence although Dupuy applied good finishes to both on 69 and 89 minutes.

French striker Damien Dupuy continued his irresistible form with a match-sealing double against west coast rivals Limerick FC on Friday night, enough to keep Galway United in the promotion hunt and see him move ahead of Barry Moran in the Galway in-house scorers’ charts.

Dupuy only joined the club in mid-season, but his brace at Terryland Park against the league’s bottom side saw him onto 12 goals for the First Division campaign.

Galway United ran out easy winners against lowly Limerick FC in Terryland Park on Friday evening. After two very disappointing results it was important for the home side to get back on the winning trail. United dominated this game but were frustrated for large parts of the game and it was not until the 63rd munite that United made the breakthrough through Mixie Harty who is enjoying his role on the right wing.

It was Harty who nearly got a fortunate goal within the first ten minutes when a right footed corner came back off the post. On 12 minutes the recalled Derek O'Brien crossed for Fran Carter who saw his downward header drift wide. Three minutes later Carter thought he had got a goal in his last United game before he departs for Canada. A free into the box was flicked in by Carter but ref Tom Connolly saw an infringement and ruled the goal out. From a Fortune corner on 22 minutes Carter glanced a header over when well positioned. On 26 minutes Carter had his fourth header in the space on 14 minutes, David O'Dowd pulled the ball back from the endline and with Limerick keeper Jimmy Fyffe out of position Carter could not direct his header on target from six yards out and the ball went wide.

Fran Carter knew it was not his night when on 34 minutes he was denied a spectacular effort. A cross from O'Brien fell to O'Dowd who swivelled in the box and shot, his shot was blocked and it fell to Carter who crashed the ball off the crossbar from the outside of his foot all of 25 yards out.

On 43 minutes O'Brien flashed a shot across the face of the goal, three minutes later the same player was played in by Fortune, he ran in and blasted over from a narrow angle. A minute into first half injury time a Colin Fortune free kick went inches over.

The second half started off with Limerick on the offensive. Keith Hartnett broke down the right and with teammates in the box he failed to pick anyone out and his square ball missed everyone. Three minutes later Limerick nearly took the lead when some slack defending let Frank Browne in and his chip over Alan Gough landed on the crossbar.

On 60 minutes Damien Dupuy sent in a brilliant cross from the end line, it was met by Mixie Harty at the far post but he could not guide the shot goalwards and the shot went over. The same two combined three minutes later when Dupuy found himself in space down the left and he picked out the unmarked Harty in the box who coolly knocked the ball home to the relief of the home support. Seven minutes later Carter broke up a Limerick attack and played in Dupuy who ran in and confidently blasted the ball past Jimmy Fyffe. United were now playing with a lot of confidence and Limerick looked demoralised. O'Dowd could of made it number three when on 73 minutes he was put clean through but dragged his shot wide.

Substitute Nicky Curran nearly grabbed his first senior goal when on 83 minutes he saw his powerful shot well saved. On 85 minutes another sub Derek McCarthy headed a Colin Fortune free off the post. United got their third on the night when Fortune picked out the unmarked Dupuy in the box and he had the simplest of tasks of knocking the ball past a stranded Jimmy Fyffe for his 12th goal of the season in just 14 starts.
