Try standing in the middle of Cardiff and saying that. Wales is only a few miles away across the water yet the level of ignorance shown by Irish people towards our Celtic cousins never fails to astound.

My Welsh ex lived in Dublin for a few years and the amount of ignorant, racist bile she had to put up with was astonishing - and lots of it from people who think the Scots are "great craic altogether"

Cork people in particular should be aware of all things Welsh and Cardiffian due to the strong links between the two cities.

Its mostly done as wind up to Welsh people (in my experience) Prefer the Welsh to the Scots myself but hated Cardiff when I was over there. Have found Welsh people in Ireland to be nothing but good...
