It's not so straightforward. It was a non-binding referendum which gave 2 questions so there was not a very clear-cut answer.

Seemingly, a big issue is how a potential new bloc of voters (apparently primarily Democrat-leaning, at least initially) will be viewed by Republican congressional lawmakers.
Could we have gotten to the point where the most developed countries don't want to expand anymore?!!
I doubt it. The US still wants to expand its influence, power and control. It just doesn't want more full citizens with rights, demands and votes.Quote:
