Who will win the FAI Cup? I'm going for Drogs.
So far it looks like Longford or Drogs - wonder what odds youd get for Rockmount?
I'm going for DE TOWN to be the first team since $h€££$ in 96 and 97 to win back to back FAI Cups. A repeat of $h€££$ '97 result (2-0 against Derry in the final would do nicely.) Spock never wins in cup finals. :D
If we somehow manage not to freak things up against rockmount i reckon it could be our year
So everyone's reckoning it's their year then? :D
I think it could be us. ;) We probably will despatch Kildare easily enough at the Brandy next week. I'd be confident of beating anyone at the Brandy in the semi-finals. We should be able to bring any away draw back to the Brandy, though I'd worry about a trip to United Park.
I think Derry are the most likely winners at this stage although I'm still quietly confident we might manage it.
I actually think UCD could be the shock of the round.Quote:

Ive a hefty figure on my team at this stage :D
Its been almost 2 years since i drunk vodka and white from that cup, too long. :D
Very confident we can do it. Its our best chance for a long time and were well capable of beating any of the teams left
So everyone fancies their own club then. I should've added 'Vote for who you THINK will win the league, not who you want to win it'.
Thought it was the cup you were interested in? :DQuote:

These odds haven't changed since before the draw was made, it should be noted.
Interesting that we're so close to Waterford and Derry in the odds. If I don't consider us (and we've a very good record against Drogs at home and have already beaten a better team in Cork), then Waterford are looking good, if only for having half a foot in the semis already.
I reckon a Derry-Longford final could well happen, with Longford taking it again.
Having just stuck a few more quid on us with Paddypower, I'd say the RTE odds are well out of date. From memory the odds were
11-4 Waterford
3-1 Derry
7-2 Drogheda
7-2 Longford
8-1 UCD
16-1 Kildare County
28-1 Athlone
66-1 Rockmount
So basically going with League position apart from Drogheda, who don't seem to be getting much credit for their League form? Strange.
Drogs are at 7-2 in the above odds probably because their match against UCD has the best potential for a "shock".
Ladbrokes had the following on Monday:
Derry City 7/2
Drogheda 7/2
Waterford United 7/2
Longford Town 9/2
U.C.D. 9/2
Kildare County 9/1
Athlone Town 20/1
Rockmount 40/1
Aye, that makes more sense alright. As I said, the Cronicle/Aertel ones weren't updated after the draw. Drogheda are the only Premier side drawn away from home, and against a better team than the other three (on league positions anyway!)Quote:

drogs are the form team, but cup football and all that....I have a sneaky feeling its gonna be a Waaaherfurd v Durry final, with Stephen Kenny making sure the bus goes by Dalyer on the way home so he can parade the cup and give those bohs ****s the finger :p :p
Stuck a tenner on the Students at 8/1. We're playing well and confidence is high, so we could well be in with a shout to repeat our feat of twenty years ago :)
Gonna go for Derry myself just have a feeling it could be their year.
Shelsman, you should have asked "who other than your own club has the best chance of winning the cup". The poll might then have a value. As it is subscribers are overcome with tribalism, hunger, greed, and can't see beyond their own clubs.
