Hopefully, knowing there's a family history of it, he caught it early. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. That left leg is the originator of some very happy memories, not least THAT goal!
'Kevin Sheedy bowel cancer surgery is successful': http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/engli...ery-a-success/

Former Republic of Ireland international Kevin Sheedy has been told his bowel cancer surgery has been successful.
A tumour and lymph glands that were removed during the surgery have subsequently tested ‘all clear’ which means that he will not require any further treatment.
He believes that early detection of the condition has saved his life.
Sheedy, coach of Everton’s Under-18 team, told their club website: "I will need regular checks to monitor my recovery.
"My life has been saved through early detection and I am told that over 90% who are diagnosed at the earliest stage are successfully treated.
"I would strongly urge anybody who has concerns to go immediately to their GP.
"Don’t be embarrassed to go otherwise you could die of that embarrassment."
Sheedy has thanked well-wishers following the diagnosis and said it helped his progress: "I would like to say a massive thank-you to everybody who sent me messages of support, which I got from all over the world.
"It was very touching and really helped me to deal with my situation knowing that so many people were rooting for me."
Congrats Kevin Sheedy!!!
Great news. I always remember Charlton being interviewed about speaking with the penalty takers in the center circle in 1990 Vs Romania, asking them what they were going to do, place them or blast them. Sheedy said I'm going to smash it over his head. And he did.
Great news.
Who is the 21 in that video? McLoughlin?
You answered your own question, it's Alan McLoughlin.

Former Republic of Ireland international Kevin Sheedy has resumed his role as Everton under-18 coach after recovering from surgery and says that he is keen to put his 'torrid' experience behind him.
The 52-year-old was diagnosed with bowel cancer in August 2012 and took time off from his coaching position in order to receive treatment, but has returned to Everton's Finch Farm training base following a successful recovery.
Feared bad news there for a minute. Great that he seems to have made a full recovery.
