:cry:The fixtures for the Airticity League First Division were released earlier today, with the long awaited structure revealed.
The First Division will comprise of eight teams; those whom didn’t achieve promotion last season, with no new additions, although if a vacancy were to arise in the First Division, the licensing applications from both Tralee Dynamos and Cobh Ramblers would be reviewed:cry:

****ed off at the players(mercenarys) who did this, they have short memories as imo the club gave them everything they looked for prior to the financial meltdown. Surely though the fai should not have led them this far along if they knew this issue remained?
Really gutted for everyone at Cobh - it would have been the easier option three years ago just to drop down to intermediate football, but you gave a full-blooded commitment to the A Championship and rebuilt the club from scratch to where it is now. Hopefully you can get the payments settled, and that both yourselves and Tralee can at least secure licences.

the blame doesnt lie with one person, every single person who called themselfs a fan and supporter of the club are to blame, and i include myself in that,
no problem is insurmountable, the FAI came in and done us a hugh favour buying our ground and sorting the tax bill, that could have happened under any regeime,
maybe the vast majority of the blame can lie with a select few individuals, but at the end of the day a finanacial auditor hired by the club stood up in from of the members a few years and back and stated this was on the horizon,
it didnt matter who was in charge after we got promoted, the same money would have been spent, maybe not as much mishandled as it was but that would only have halfed the trouble we found ourselfs in, its happened uder previous regeimes before which is why we dont have a training ground,
the club is owned by the people of cobh and it was our responsablity to support it through thick and thin, and weve failed it, simple as,
I seen something on the ECHO that the FAI have paid the bill and are looking to get the club going again? Surely a move into the Munster Senior Leagues would be a possibility?
No the would be a move backwards..
Dave is going to manage the under 19s Elite team in LOI. Next year senior league of Ireland..

The question is now, how many old attendees of games have now flown the nest and are watching Cork City? Would the club be able to get a regular 500+ crowd again in Cobh?

Some have flown but not that many, but the image of the club has been tarnished badly and it needs to be fixed, that means a complete break from all who are in the club.
I can't imagine many Cobh fans would be able to embrace Cork City overnight surely? The problem I would forsee would be that the club's name and reputation has surely been damaged in the last few years and it makes it too easy for the more casual fan to dismiss them with a "that shower? I'm not going up there and handing money over to them" attitude that Limerick have also had to fight against for a long time now. Bearing that in mind any crowd estimates should definitely be tempered on the low side of cautious, 200 sounds as much as should be budgeted for. If it turns out to be higher than that fantastic but having unexpected money to spend is definitely a far more ideal situation to be in than scrambling around to pay wages.
Best of luck to all though, I'd like to see Cobh back in the league. They stuck with it and deserve a break.
Id go back supporting Ramblers providing the club is been ran as it should,hopefully there will be more info in the coming weeks and months as to what exactly has happened the debt and how the club aim to pay back the F.A.I....
Any recent updates on the player payments situation? With only seven clubs in the First Division, a thriving Cobh would prove a major shot in the arm for the second tier.
