Russian players are revolting - against their club over non-payment of wages

I heard tonight (as we're all watching the match here) that players of Tom Tomsk are refusing to play if they're not paid up to date before their next league match. Tom have been told by the Kremlin to do the right thing and pay up, however the club, who are in freefall in every sense, have been refused a loan by the local government. The refusal of the Russian FA to fully recognise a players union is playing into owners and government hands as (this is a rumour) at least 6 Premier clubs are more than 2 months in arrears on wages.

What I do know for sure if that Volga Nizhni Novgorod have not paid any wages for at least 5 months, possibly 6. A former colleague, Misha Kerzhakov, told me last week that the club have promised to pay "something" before the winter break.

Could be a couple of teams gone by January.
