Les Bleus - itv coverage

did anyone notice Andy Townsend trying not to laugh after the game whilst Des, Terry Vens, Gareth "miss it" Southgate were talking bout the defeat.

Also during the game there was a mention of the rugby World cup semi final -France v England, but not of the great performance the day b4 v The All Blacks........................

I remember, back in the late nineties, Townsend was interviewed on ITV about the prospects of English teams in the latter stages of European competition and said that he facied "both our teams" to go through (neither did, btw.) Strange that this comment didn't attract the kind of opprobrium heaped on Matt Holland for singing God Save the Queen, particularly given that Townsend was probably an active Irish international at the time. But then again, most Irish "football fans" wouldn't have seen anything wrong with his statement...

In his defence he can hardly refer to 'them' as 'you' while he's working for the country's national broadcaster.

Ray Houghton on that Green and Red programme p�ssed me off - apparently he still considers himself Scottish and always looks for their results first. Total tool on Talk Sport as well.

Yeah, cnuts the pair of them. They carry Irish passports yet soon people born here won't be able to. :confused:
