Pat Fenlon resigning from Bohs?

All over twitter and the Bohs forum that Pat has walked from Bohs, I presume we'll hear in the next day or so if true or not. Potentially this is great news for Bohs and also the league in general to be done with the mindset that Pat brings. Some on twitter speculating that he's taking a coaching job with Celtic, if true that shed new light on Bohs bizarre trip to Scotland this week.

The 'best team in the league' make the rat's teams look like bastions of expansive attacking play.

This would be great news for Bohs if it is true. A substantial saving on wages costs for a manager who is contracted to 2013.

I'm not talking about the apparent expanisve football Pat does or doesn't play, I'm talking about his mindset re ridiculously unsustainable wages paid to players (and himself). Bohs fans and their board seem to have confused the importance of the two as well.

And for what it's worth, there's no need to doubt the 'best team in the league' moniker, we are.

My hostility comes from his attitude to spending. He knows Bohs are f*cked financially, but keeps going back making new budgetary demands and wanting to sign players he knows he can't afford and which he knows threatens the long term future of Bohs. He does this because he wants to be in charge of as good a team as possible to make himself look good. He even took Bohs on a pointless trip to Scotland on Monday, lost one striker to injury and apparently played another one last night even though he looked injured, all presumably so he could rub shoulders with SPL types. Shock horror if he ends up signing for Celtic now.

It's great news for Bohs if he leaves, and suggests that they might finally start to address their spending issues, though that will depend on how long the deals some of their players Fenlon signed this off-season.

Every manager wants the best available budget. It's not their job to say no if the money is offered

Nutsy's a decent bloke, and I've yet to hear a single player who's played under him to have a pop.

I can understand SkStu's point of view, but the problems in Bohs aren't rooted in Pat Fenlon

The majority of managers attempt to squeeze as much money as they can for the squad.
As Dodge rightly pointed it is not his job to set the budget, that fault lies with the board but certainly not Pat Fenlon.

Even on the Bohs forum they dont seem to know why or whos decision it was to bring Bohs to scotland.
To land that at Pat Fenlons feet holds about as much currency as those 'financial investigations' into our finances.
You do remember those 'financial investigations' that your 'inside sources' uncovered on the always ultra forum?

Yes Bohs financial problems are the cause of Pat Fenlon, not boards signing off on budgets they could not afford.
Why do some people find it so difficult to comprehend its not Pat Fenlon that sets the budget of what ever club he manages?

I agree with you Dodge, up to a point.

The problems in Bohs are partially to do with successive boards inability to face up his demands. Fenlon is certainly part of the problem

But when he's doing something that quite clearly, he knows this remember, is destroying the club he works for, can he not blame him the umpteenth time he goes back and looks for money to sign Killian Brennan?

Funny how that only came to light with Shams fans when their claims were shown to be utter ****e.
Before that it was all 'everyone knows' and 'the inside sources' etc.
But to be fair I do really enjoy watching a good pass the book.
