i just got a call from a cruise company in florida asking me if i was interested in working with them for a year as a dj on board one of their ships...

Florida + Cruise Ships....

Don't know anyone that works on the Entertainment side of cruise ships. Friend of the family is a Mate on one, and seems to enjoy it... There was a series on it on BBC wasn't there - some wagon singer got a record deal out of it, so I suppose you could try and find that. I'd say you'd have a swell time.
