If u had £100k to spend what Eircom League player would u buy?
The catch is u must have seen him play against City this season home or away before u can nominate the player. So if a player was injured he doesn't count. Martin O Neill only buys players
he has personally seen so u have to too. I'm not talking about the computer game either but just curious to see how good as scouts city fans are. Next nominate the weakest playing position
that needs serious and immediate attention- and only one position!- and who would u buy to replace him? Lastly apart from
Tom McNulty of Dundalk who would you hate to see in a city shirt?

doh there's my choice gone
McNulty u bsastard
I would hate to see any of the following
the baker brothers, steven geoghan, most of the dublin players actually :D
who would i buy: hmm
not sure at the mo, we need to get rid of deccie at the back but we already have Napier who a perfectly good player, so i'd buy a right winger...hmmm let me see. i know i'd buy that guy Tony Tynan..i've heard some good things about him...

Sorry but it would have to be Richie Baker - we don't have a right winger as such and he's the best player in the business. Otherwise Glenn Crowe who would probably bang in 25 goals a season. However the goalscoring situation is improving - thank God! Not sure would the diehards accept my choices, so onto the player I'd hate to see at the Cross - Emile Heskey!

A centre back who can play football is our biggest worry as far as I can see. Derek is fantastic in the air, but his distribution is atrocious. Deccy is the man to replace though, he was a good defender in his day, but his footballing prowess leaves alot to be desired, and he is getting alot slower. I dont have a replacement to suggest, other than Dave Hill minus 5 years :p . Centre backs with footballing ability are thin on the ground in the LOI. :(
As for who I would like to see sign for City, Billy Woods is one. play him on the right of midfield, where we are lacking at the moment.
Who would I most hate to see in a city jersey? i have to go with james on that one, almost all the dublin players, especially anto whelan, molloy, baker * 2

Clive Delaney of UCD at centre half and obviuously Glen Crowe, although we would have to have his name changed by deed poll so opposing fans couldn't mock him!!!

I would have to agree
with a few earlier posts ... Glen Crowe, Trevor Molloy, Shane Mellor form Longford, Alan Kirby who was meant to come to Cork but is now in Longford. Tony Tynan (still cant believe it)

Ali G, we need sum respect in da house. Billy Woods? Do me a fava bruvva. I know the X doubles as a retirement home for chilled out old stagers but only dialysis machines should take the **** out of people, not you. I agree with the choices of those not fit to wear the shirt, though. I know it sounds a bit elitist but some players wouldn't know what da shirt really means and I'm not talking about badge kissers.

I'd get Glen Crowe, or else Paul Byrne from Bohs. He's the best passer in the league & is very good at free kicks

Definately Alan Kirby. He's a class act and tore us to shreads on the opening day. Without a doubt the best individual performance against City thus far this season.

Gareth Cronin. Just what we need in central defence.

Players that haven't been mentioned yet Liam Coyle from Derry and your man Hunt from the Boez. Players have been mentioned Crowe and Ritchie Baker. I can't believe someone mentioned Trevor Molloy above he is total cack, gets about 8 goals a season and about 6 are penalties. How about yea man Kelly that Roddy Collins you won't get him for 100k.

Hmmmm
Defense: Pat Scully
- when he was missing for games last year $hel$ were a shambles
- look at the difference he has made to the srfc defense this year. btw he was missing when we tore them apart at the cross
Midfield: Kevin Hunt
- He controls games, passes & distributes the ball well & bohs are a lot weaker without him. Supposed to be one of the niciest guys in the league too i think...
Forward: Glen Crowe
- He scores the goals, enough said.
Others:
Mbazi Livingstone at past seems handy enough but not seen enough of him.
Darren Kelly at Derry is well though off but he didn't stand out when we played them.
If we got 2 of the above we'd win the league.

Paul Byrne Passing his of the ball is one of the reasons why Glen Crowe is scoring case and point this year in D'Mount he looked up saw glen Crowe and ... well you all know the rest.
well spend a few quid on him and the rest on security to keep him out of the pub. 100K is to much of a risk on him, who would I hate in a City top
As for the other thing Liam O'Brien

I cant understand why Boez are releasing/selling Paul Byrne. He is so important to their midfield. Id say that he will go to Pats and do wonders for them. He IS the player City need. We have the speedy winger on the left, a good passer on the right would be perfect to go with that. Unfortunitally CCFC dont pay the going rate for good players so we will undoubtly pass this great oppertunity up!

True, but he spends more time in the pub then anywhere else its not a six pack he has its a beer keg, although could rent a room right beside the X so....
Great player, demon for 'de pint' though

Player to sign for CCFC? Darren Kelly. No discussion; pure class...

Glen Crowe would hammer in goals for us either him or Alan Kirby.
I'd hate to see Liam O'Brien back for City
