My sons informed me last nite that the "yellow light if death" came on on their ps3. Anyone experience this and is it fixable? I really can't afford to be buying them a new one so looking for other options.

I've never heard of it but there does seem to be a good bit out there about it. It might be worth looking at a few links to see if there is a general trend or list of things you can do.
Thanks! Was wondering if anyone else had experienced it.
I haven't seen it myself and i was asking around in work and no one else has had it. I found this online though. You might have to send it back. If its in warranty then you're sorted .... if not then, its a known problem and maybe you could get it fixed out of warranty because its a known issue. Where did you buy it?
Argos about 3 years ago. Will check it out.
Hit it with a hammer.
Hey magicme. Our one had a dodgy laser and a crowd in Bray called Console repairs Ireland sorted it out. And they give their own guarantee with it. I've sent a few mates there as well with other problems with ipods and the like and none of us can speak any higher if them. Nice lads too.
Defo give em a shout.

Cheers bonnie. I have emailed Sony today bout it coz a friend of mine did that and got €150 voucher towards buying a new one. If that fails I will send it to them. Thanks again.
Anytime.
