Byrne wins writers’ gong

The Republic of Ireland’s newest senior cap, Shelbourne forward Jason Byrne, has been named the eircom/Soccer Writers’ Association of Ireland Player of the Month for April.
Byrne usurped Glen Crowe’s position at the summit of the eircom League’s scoring charts last season and has consolidated his position as the number one striker in the domestic game so far this season.
