Bohs' sportmanship?

I've heard of taking quick frees, throw ins, etc. but I'd never witnessed a quick tip-off until last night. After George's goal, Bohs cheekily restarted the goal while most of the City team were congratulating him beside our dugout. Bohs continued to bear down on goal which was gaurded by about three alert City defenders while the rest of team darted back onto the pitch. When Danny Murphy unmerrcilessly put an end to Bohs untimely advances it recieved nearly a bigger cheer from the City faithful than George's goal itself.

Maybe the ref is the one I should be complaining about. I must point out that our celebrations were not usually long. I'd say the ref was as delighted as us when Danny Murphy launched the ball into the stand, nearly sending a Bohs attacker with it.

As for Robbie Doyle sticking his fingers up at us, it's simply inexcusable. The City support last night was in fact, I'm glad to say, far less anti-Dub, but pro-City last night.

We certainly won the contest last night, in several respects.

If all Cork's players were in their own half, Bohs were perfectly entitled to kick off. I'm sure they got the idea from their 2-2 with Shams, when Molloy took a shot straight from the kick-off after Hunt's penalty, and nearly scored.

Or the Schalke - Leverkusen game a couple of weeks ago. Butt took a penalty and did'nt get back into goal quick enough and Schalke scored from the kick off.

exactly the case, Ryan sprinted to the half way line, asked the ref could he tip off, the ref checked all the city players were in their own half, they were, Bohs tipped off.

it's one of those things like nodding the ball out of a keeper's hands though, while it's technically within the laws of the game it's not in the spirit of the game or 'gentlemanly conduct'. fair play to Danny murphy for reading the situation though.

I also heard they allowed kick off if city players in their own half of the pitch so suppose fair enough for them being alert enough. Doubt will city will make that mistake again. Suppose all will happen now is that at least 1 alert player will step onto the other half of the pitch to prevent the quick tap.

Obviously Robbie Doyle was wrong to give the fingers but they way some fans reacted was well out of order. What difference does it really make??? Fans should take satisfaction that they wound him up enough to do it...

Correct.
They were perfectky entitled to take the tip off.
City players need to stay focused especially after scoring.
Bohs did nothing wrong hence only the odd few are complaining.

I'd be more concerned by Robbie Doyle slamming himself into the advertising hoarding in what can only be described as an attempt to get an opposition player booked. Pity he didn't really injure himself.
