Well, Sligomen played in Wembley as far back as 1966
It took Lawrie Sanchez 10 years to achieve the managerial equivalent. He left the Showgrounds in 1995 and went on to manage Northern Ireland in Wembley versus England in March 2005.
I was thinking of Lawrie as well - went from scoring the winner in the FA Cup final against Liverpool to managing at the Showgies. Now there's a real honour.
Gary Dicker went from Belfield to Wembley in about the same length of time.Quote:
