Can anyone help me with a query I have as regards the FAI coaching ladder?
I passed the old FAI level one coaching exam in January 2001. At the time, the next level up on the ladder was the UEFA B level. Since then the FAI have re-organised the ladder somewhat so I am wondering if anyone can tell me where exactly this old level 1 cert fits on the new coaching ladder ?
appreciate any help on this.

If you check out the coaching section of the FAI website you'll see down the page a bit that Level 1 is the equivalent of holding the Youth Cert at the moment. http://www.fai.ie/index.php?option=c...d=85&Itemid=97
On the UEFA "B" License page it says:
"ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Course candidates will be Coaches with a FAI Level 1 Youth Certificate. UEFA “B” Licence is part of the Level 2 Coaching programme within the FAI’s Coach Education Scheme. It is recommended that a minimum period of 12-months should have elapsed following completion of Youth Cert before applying for the UEFA “B” Licence, and all applicants should be actively coaching at an appropriate level." http://www.fai.ie/images/stories/Foo..._B_Licence.pdf
So it seems to be that you are still eligible to move on to the next level of the pyramid.
The FAI change the overall structure a few years ago and were the first football association to make such changes, which led to UEFA basing their recommended structure on the one the FAI implemented.
Sorry to bump such an old thread but can anyone tell me exactly what year the FAI restructured the coaching ladder system? Need it for a college project.
