Unfortunately after this weekend I will be closing down this website. I have found it impossible to run on an effective basis. For a website to be successful it needs communication with the club at all levels to be up to date and a source of information for the fans and visitors that use it like suspensions, injury's, signings events, team news after away games and much more. I have had no contact with any section of the club and any information or news I have put up has been through the media or from other websites usually long after every one in Limerick already knows of it. A mass exodus of players which I had to read about and from what I have read on the forum 15 players for the Dublin game of which I haven’t a clue who those players are. Psychic is one thing I am not. I could continue putting out this season what I did last season but running a website for the sake of it and just going through the motions is not my idea of supplying the Limerick supporters or doing me any justice. Sunday will be the last day the website will be up and running if after that time I have had no contact from the club that they are serious about having a up to date and effective outlet for the club on the internet and assurances about being informed and supplied with relevant details and news on a regular basis I will call it a day.
What really made my mind up was tonight I received an email from a fan in Kerry and this is a part of what he wrote "I was just wondering what the admission is to the League games for the season and if the price is different for cup matches. Also, are there replica shirts available in the city? Finally, I'm also looking for some information on the squad for the new season. Thanks for taking the time to read my email, and replying, if you get the chance. Hope to be at the ground for the 27th." I could not give an answer to any of his questions because I simply don't know them, its a sad state when an official webite cannot answer those few simple questions.
I was prepared to purchase a domain name and web space for the club from this season on but sadly that no one connected with the club seems to be the slightest bit interested if Limerick FC has a website at all. If anyone wishes to contact me my email address is limerickfc@lycos.co.uk

I'll be sorry to see it go. It was a great source for stats, results and fixtures and league table and the layout was great. It is a shame that the club does not support this venture and I think reflects once again their inability to accommodate people outside of their coterie who care about the club and want to help.
It doesn't take a lot to communicate with someone giving their time to maintain a website. And by the way, is a website not one of the licensing requirements as well?
It seems next season will be another one where we find out about the goings on at the club through rumour on message boards.

Have to agree with ye both. The Club have treated the supporters with utter contempt over the last year. We have done everything possible to meet them halfway..provide Buses for Players, sponsored Golf hole, Cheques given to team etc..And we SHOULD be doing these things. Thats what a Supporters Club does but there is nothing coming back from the club.
The whole thing has proven to be a one way street. The very fact that the club has turned down the oppurtunity to have an offical website for free just show you
Lets keep Foot.ie going anyway for all info this year

Hi LIMSFC
I spoke to The Chairman just now and explained the importance of having a web presence to him. He assured me that they will give all info to you on an ongoing basis if you can contact him.
I have just emailed you his work number. It's worth one last try!!
All the best
John

I really do feel sorry for ye lads, you're obviously doing your utmost to support and further your club, but as far as I can see its run by short-sighted fools who are more interested in their own status than actually doing anything constructive. The sooner you root the *******s out the better
