Cork City’s star striker John O’Flynn, who has seen virtually no action since last August because of a knee problem, returned to the Leesiders’ starting line-up for a pre-season friendly against Kilkenny City at the weekend – and took just two minutes to get back amongst the scorers.

The Irish under-21 star was carted off with an injury against UCD at Belfield Park last summer, and although he returned to action for one game towards the end of the season, he was evidently not recovered and spent the remainder of last season back on the sidelines
