A few questionable ones there "Sweet Child of mine" beating "whole lotta love". Not a big Metallica fan but they have better riffs then "Enter Sandman". And prehaps the most worst of all Michael Jackson "Beat It" made the list when Link Wray Rumble didn't
Always liked Thin Lizzy and the start of Whiskey in the jar - not the best but one that always catches my mind
Or some of the Horslips stuff is cool

im not really sure what constitutes this list to be honest. Id have judas priest breaking the law, if they are on about catchy riffs. Id also not let the stones anywhere near that list. HOrses for courses though.

are they not two different songs? one is called voodoo chile slight return...the other is more standard blues? got to have hendrix top of the pile people forget what it must have been like to hear him at the time. people have a larger sonic pallette nowadays.Quote:

Given the primitive recording techniques and equipment at their disposal - its amazing what they came up with. Some of which has never been successfully replicated.
Hendrix was far from a one trick poney though. I rate him as a great song writer too - who could well have produced some all time classics into the 70's.
