That's shocking. I thought Wigan were a somewhat decent side.
IIRC, the record in the Premier League era is 9-0 (twice) for Man U against Nottingham Forest and Ipswich Town.
It could equal the record for most goals in a game (again, Premier League era), which I think was set a few years ago when Portsmouth beat Reading 6-4.
United beat Ipswich 9-0 but 'only' beat Forest 8-1.
My mistake but its some coincidence this result happens the weekend after clampdowns on matchfixing throughout Europe
I'm sick, had €100 on Spurs -8 with PP's.
Stuck fifty on Defoe to get four or more myself. Well pleased.
I am just glad no irish player was playing for wigan yesterday. Not that would have been a tough week. Pity I did not have defoe as captain in my fantasy football team though.
Robbie Keane must have mixed feelings about this. Redknapp said he would leave it up to Robbie if he wanted to play as he was drained after Wednesday night. Robbie obviously decided to sit this one out and they go and score 9. He can hardly expect to start the next game.
Nice touch from the players, imo.

There was only about 100 fans there anyway, but I suppose they didn't have to do it.
My brother had Kirkland in his fantasy football side.
I remember Gordon Strachan saying Chris Kirkland was by some stretch the best goalkeeper he'd ever worked with. That's worth further examination...
Lukic, Beeney, Sealey, Ozzy, Boruc...?
Just watched the goals, they nearly all came from the Spurs right wing or a mistake by the left back Edman. A nightmare day at the office.
