Very interesting. Seemed to be pretty ****ed off with the LOI in fairness.
He will be a big loss to the league. Hope all goes well for him and St Pats into the future
I know he was under pressure alright but i thought he was doing a great job. He seemed to have a great take on things and at times wasn't afraid to stick the boot in. He is exactly what this league needs.
He wouldn't like to come down to Cork would he?
I'm sure he'd prefer a job where he gets paid (on time).

"Poaching"? Thats a laugh. Kenna was a gloryhunting mercenary and went where he thought he would have an opportunity to win some trophies. Like plenty of managers down through the years he wanted to boost his profile in the hope he would get a job in England. Didn't work out as he had planned and things went pear shaped at Inchicore big time under his tenure.Quote:

Sadlier was a good media operator but hard to see how his presence benefitted Pats much. Although these days, any team that stays up without having to pay players under the table and manages to pay the bus driver must be called a success!:)

Ballsed up with Kenna, and took a fair bit of flak for it. The job is thankless at the best of times.

Yes Dong, poaching. Kenna committed himself to United, and so for him to leave, IMO someone - Sadlier - had to approach him.
That said, we certainly got the better end of the bargain - Foster as opposed to Kenna, Barry Ryan as opposed to Gary Rogers, and while Derek O'Brien didn't have a great season, he did major damage in games against Pats. As for Kenna, delighted he is now left picking his toenails on the couch rather than a team in a dressing room.
I never said he was a big loss, I just gave an answer to Mr A about why some people think he is. I just said he did a good job. I still blame Kenna for leaving, you can't blame Sadlier for trying to get him, if Kenna was commited he would have stayed.Quote:
